Nowhere in England is the taxi scam more widespread than in London. The black old styled cabs are licensed and though they are more expensive they are much safer.
Other vehicles that stop to offer you a ride are not licensed.
In these off-license vehicles, there are incidents of robbery, assault, and even a few rapes.
Always hail a black cab from a well lit street.
